Stewart Island Ferry

Stewart Island is perfect for a day excursion or an extended stay. Departing from Bluff, cross Foveaux Strait in style on board express catamarans. During the daily scheduled 1 hour ferry crossing between Bluff and Oban, keep a lookout for wildlife, especially seabirds. Watching mollymawks (albatross) soaring behind the ferry is a fantastic sight. Vehicle parking available adjacent to Bluff Visitor Terminal – reservations recommended. To receive reduced return ferry rate, the return ferry must be booked at the same time as the outgoing ferry. Coach transfers are available from Queenstown, Te Anau and Invercargill.
